Stimulus Checks For the Deceased?!

As if we needed another reminder of why the bureaucracy of the federal government is not well suited to managing money or the economy (or health care, retirement, etc…) it seems that the dearly departed are now receiving stimulus checks!:

“Antoniette Santopadre of Valley Stream was expecting a $250 stimulus check. But when her son finally opened it, they saw that the check was made out to her father, Romolo Romonini, who died in Italy 34 years ago. “

Nice.

Taxpayers no longer have to support just the non-taxpaying population, they also have to support the dead! ;-)

The worst part is that Romonini wasn’t even in the Social Security system! I don’t understand how this happens? No, wait.. yes I do - it’s the U. S. Federal Government. It’s already so big a bloated the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing…
