I know I get quite a bit of traffic to the blog from the United Kingdom, so here’s a tidbit for all you U. K. readers who might be looking for commercial insurance: Autonet Insurance.
Autonet Insurance price checks 40 of the leading insurers in the U. K.. Autonet is an independently owned insurance broker, and they do all the shopping around for you.
Here are some of the types of insurance they offer:
- Van Insurance
- Courier Insurance
- Truck Insurance
- Car Insurance
- LHD Car Insurance
- Bike Insurance
- Quad Insurance
- Home Insurance
- Travel Insurance
- Business Insurance
- pet insurance
- caravan insurance
It’s all done online through the AutoNet website. You enter the info, and they run with it. Brokers do charge a fee for their services, but they are also typically in a position to get better rates, so it can still work to your advantage. Occasionally, you can get a better deal but it requires you doing all the leg work. I did this for my mortgage, and it worked. But Autonet offers a guarantee:
“Get your insurance through us and if you find a cheaper insurance elsewhere giving you the same cover and you can provide written proof within 48 hours of having taken out cover with us, you may cancel and receive a full refund. No problem!”
Like anything in life, you can save a couple bucks going the DIY route, but sometimes it’s just not worth the hassle. If you believe it’s not, then AutoNet may be worth the time save.

Debt is never a good thing. Sure, there is bad debt and not-so bad debt (like mortgages and student loans), but generally speaking, it’s always best to eliminate your debt when you can and avoid it in the future.
Debt is especially bad in times of economic distress. Recessions often lead to job loss and lack of raises which result in less income. Less income may mean less ability to pay off your current debt or it may make it harder to live within your means, causing you to rack up more credit card debt.
Whatever your situation is, it’s best to face up to it and change your behavior to avoid being in the same situation again in the future. But simply changing your behavior will not always be enough to get you out of debt. Some times you need a Debt Management Program.
If you find yourself in need of such professional assistance, you may want to check out DebtGuru.com. DebtGuru.com is the website for American Credit Foundation®, an IRS 501 (c)(3) non-profit consumer credit counseling organization.
DebtGuru provides debt restructuring and credit card debt consolidation, which doesn’t change who you owe money to and it is not a new loan. DebtGuru provides a counselor to work with you on a personalized repayment plan that can eliminate your debt in up to 1/3 of the time it could take otherwise. Once you agree to be part of the management plan, they will contact your creditors and negotiate the best repayment situation for you. That may me lower payments, lower interest rates, lower total amount owed or all of the above.
In my opinion, it’s best to avoid getting yourself in a position where you need such a service. But we sometimes find ourselves in situations not of our design. DebtGuru may be your solution for just such a situation. Hey – they offer a free, online quote so why not check them out?

Good web hosting is essential to success in the online marketplace. Whether you are a small business owner or even a part time blogger you need a web presence, and that starts with web hosting.
When I was looking for a host for this blog, I was quickly overwhelmed by the multitude of options I found. I knew I wanted hosting, a domain and support for word press, but even given those parameters there was a lot to weed through. Enter Web Hosting Geeks.
Web Hosting Geeks provides an excellent repository of website hosting providers. Check out there site. They have a top 10 providers list, but you can also search for hosting providers by any of the following:
Or you can narrow the field to the best host for Unix, Windows, PHP, Dedicated hosting, blogs and more.
They also provide a Web Hosting Guide to help prospective website/blog owner decide how best to find the host solution that fits his needs. It covers the basics like support and security, OS and programming tools, bandwidth, uptime and pricing.
I wish I’d known about Web Hosting Geeks when I was looking for a host when I set this blog up. I don’t think I would have made a different choice in the end (I use GoDaddy and have been very pleased), but Web Hosting Geeks would have made the whole shopping process a lot quicker and easier.

Vista Print offers affordable, personalized holiday photo cards.
It’s that time again. Time to start thinking about the holidays. Shopping, gift ideas, dinner parties and holiday cards. Holiday cards have gotten a lot more personal over the past few years. I remember when you had to choose from a box of left over cards from last year and stock Santa, snowscape and jingle bells was about it. Not any more. The Internet and age of digital photographs have greatly reduced costs and overhead.
Vista Print is one of the companies taking advantage of modern technology to provide custom, personalized Holiday Photo Cards. You simply choose a design, upload a digital photo and , as Emeril Lagasse would say, BAM! In as early as 3 business days, you’ve got holiday cards with a personal touch to send to all of your friends and family.
You can choose from:
- Foil-Accented (to add a little sparkle)
Two options that stand out to me are: the Foil-Accented, and Letters. I haven’t seen too many Foil-Accented cards, and I though the idea of a holiday letter to let those you may have lost touch with what you’ve been up to in your life was a nice idea.
They’ve also got a sale of 50% off, though I’m not sure for how long.
