Tronix country: a bad deal.
Posted on | October 6, 2008 |
I’ve been hearing this radio ad of late, on my lunch break mostly.
“You’re approved for a new New Dell or HP desktop computer for ONLY $29.99 a week for 12 months! Bad credit or no credit! rebuild your credit! “
The ad goes on to promise a “Super fast computer” and you even get a new printer or television with your “paid purchase.”
I’m guessing that “paid purchase” means after you’ve paid off that fancy new computer and they’ve made enough in your weekly payments to pay for the low end, generic printer or T. V.. They’re loss-leaders.
If the promise of flashy new technological gems isn’t enough to lure you in, they also offer a “great way to improve your credit rating.” And, of course, there are “no credit checks!”
It is shocking what some people will peddle.
$29.99 per week for 52 weeks comes out to just under $1,600. You can get a pretty decent brand name computer these days for less than half that price. And as for improving your credit, I have a MUCH better plan:
If you can afford $30 a week in payments, pay yourself first and save that money in an ING direct account (or your best local bank if you don’t have access to a PC ) and when you have the $700 saved up - buy it on credit and pay the balance immediately. That would improve your score - and save you a bundle to boot!
The catch of course is that my plan takes patience and discipline, so that precludes 99% of the target audience of this ad.

Thank you for saving me from falling for this scam. This sounds like the Blue Hippo scam under a new name. Again Thank You. The ING idea sound like a good idea to me.

You are very welcome John!
I remember seeing a Blue Hippo commercial on T.V. a while back, but I hadn’t yet started this site. I must hear the Tronix ad 20 times a day and it drives me so nuts, I had to write about it!
Thank you for commenting. It’s good to know that someone out there has found this site helpful.
Best of luck.

I just found this site, I am a member of tronix country. I have not yet receive my computer but I have made the neccesary payments so how is it such a big scam. They told me the computers straight from Dell or HP. So how do I get out of this contract?
December 12th, 2008 @ 12:56 pm
Hello Deidra,
I’m not sure I follow your comment completely. It sounds like you don’t think it’s a scam on the one hand, but on the other hand, you’re asking how to get out of the contract?
I can’t give you an answer regarding the contract, but as far as being a scam… I never said it was a “big scam”, just a bad deal. As I said in the post, there are better ways to improve your credit score and buy a new computer form Dell or HP.
Just check out Dell’s site (http://www.dell.com/) and see what their prices are. You can get a computer for MUCH less than the $1,600 the Tronix deal will cost you. Or, if you prefer to spend $1,600, you can get a much better computer than the one Tronix will provide to you for the same price.

i am a member of tronix country and the thing i cant understand is they told my that after 3 payments my computer would be shipped to me, well i have made 4 getting ready to be 5 payments, and i have not heard from them. As a matter of fact i e-mailed them and asked when would i get my computer and they said as soon as they could find a creditor, and they also said do not reply. I tried to e-mail them the other day ,and my e-mail could not go through i wonder why.
December 16th, 2008 @ 8:01 pm
I ordered this computer from tronix country. Thought I was almost done with the payments. I never received billing statements. Everytime I tried to call, I was on hold for at least 30 minutes each time. Finally when I was able to talk with some one in person, she gave me a website to go to ans view my statements. Initially I was told that I would be paying $1700.00 for a new computer. When I saw by stateme, I had paid well over $1,000.00 and my balance was still over a thousand. Also, I’ve been making payments almost a whole year and have not received the LCD monitor.
December 17th, 2008 @ 12:17 pm
Well, when I wrote this post I thought I was just exposing a bad deal (hence the title), but it seems that perhaps Tronix Country passed “bad deal” territory about a year ago and has been careening toward Scam ever since!
Your stories look to be the norm for Tronix Country customers over the past 12 months.
You can check out the Council of Better Business Bureaus website here for more detailed info:
http://www.dc.bbb.org/report.html?national=Y&compid=204430445
The short story is that Tronix County’s BBB Accreditation was revoked on 10/8/2008, and in the 12 months they have received 18 of their 20 total complaints regarding Tronix Country!
Also, the majority of the issues seem to be delivery, contract and billing disputes.
It looks like the complaints do get resolved, but you may need to get the BBB on your side to prod Tronix to resolve your issue

i have been dealing with tronix since august 2008 they have lied beaten the bush and basically cheated me . they made promises they didnt keep lied to me and have my money…..wut they do is make you wait till puter is paid for! the rest is profit. but they lie every time you talk to them.i saw the same computer at walmart for 539.00 but tronix wans 1800.00 for the credit score i was ok with that but i found out they dont report like they say.tronix can kiss my butt!!!!!! theives is wut they are!

I thought this was a scam the first time I saw the ad on TV. Just another Blue Hippo. It’s sad that they can scam good hard working people that don’t have the credit to get one. If you want a decent computer and don’t have the money go to AARONS or Rent A center and you can get a really good one there. Yes it will cost you more but hey at least you can bring the computer home with you and don’t have to wonder will I even get it? Plus if something goes wrong during your rental they will repair it or give you another one. I hope this helps someone not to go to this place and pay forever and never get a computer. The cheapest one out of the two rental places I just mentioned is AARONS because you just have to pay on it for a year. Rent a center is a little longer. Please whatever you do don’t give your money to the place you have to pay a year before (they claim) you’ll get your computer. Oh and also you don’t have to have good credit at the rental places either, or an active checking account.
December 24th, 2008 @ 1:42 am
Thank you so much for all your comment on tronix country…
December 25th, 2008 @ 1:10 am

December 25th, 2008 @ 5:44 pm
The Informer is a worker for the Tronix Country. Dont listen to him. His company is a scam and they scam people.
December 29th, 2008 @ 7:41 pm
If you want a lap top that bad, just save $30.00 a week for 6 months and go to Walmart and buy a nice Dell.
Their commercial on the radio is annoying too. Those actual customers sound so uneducated.
January 4th, 2009 @ 2:27 am
It is true that their are a lot companies out there that produce scams for consumers to fall. It is up to the consumer to figure out which deals are actually deals or scams.
I was a bit worried if I should go into a contract with this company in order to receive a brand new labtop computer. As a student, I must say that I do believe that this is not a scam.
Not only are they offering you a chance to pay for your labtop with low weekly payments, the perks that you receive also are good as well. A free LCD TV, a digital camera, mp3 player, printer, and additional software is worth 52 payments of $29.99 per week.
If you were to purchase a laptop for at least $400.00 from Wal-Mart, the laptop comes with only the basic software available. Buying software for your computer can cost you an additional $300.00. Plus buying a decent printer can be costly as well. In addition, a tv, camera, and mp3 player can make your investment up to $2,000.00.
I personally think that it is not a scam. Just use reason to come a decent conclusion.
January 5th, 2009 @ 3:16 pm
to anyone that just has money to throw away
go ahead! as for me i want my money back!

??? how can you keep someones money that has”nt signed a contract???
they say the first $99,00 blank check is a layway deposit if so any retail stores will give your money back .with a small charge
not keep all your money . once again tronix country im not stopping here! im a very persistent .so your people can smart off on the phone but how will they act in front of a judge???

January 13th, 2009 @ 6:54 pm
For those of you comparing this to blue hippo, you could not be more correct. This company is founded by the co founder of blue hippo. This is a big scam and I feel sorry for people that fall for it. Look it up.
January 15th, 2009 @ 12:33 am
Reasoning thinks this is a good deal because of all the extra software and other low end stuff that is included. There is a lot of good free open source software on the net, such as openoffice.org for a Microsoft Office replacement.
I agree with Joe 100%, put the money in a bank account or see if you can put a computer in lay-away at Walmart. It sounds like Tronix doesn’t send you the computer for a while anyway. I have seen better deals on surpluscomputers.com for a tenth of the price. I buy IT equipment for a international company so I am always looking for the best deals.
January 17th, 2009 @ 1:44 am
SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! They take advantage of people who are struggling and make them feel they can’t do without. Granted, they take on risks, but a 1200-1400 profit? Wow! that’s 500% return in a year…Remember, a 8-11% return in the stock market is great!! It would take 4 non-paying customers to equal 1 paying customer…Hardly no risks!! Save your money and buy used if you have to on Ebay! Sometimes they offer computers at Best Buy for 329.99…No committments! Be patient, Folks!!! Remember, if it sounds too good to be truE…IT IS!!!
January 20th, 2009 @ 5:57 pm
I made an order this morning thinking … my 2 yr old son just poured water on my laptop..so since i just went through bankruptcy last year i thought this was a wonderful idea…and the rep i spoke to offered me all these items and..and free tv and mp3 and digital camera plus programs and etc…and he wanted to tell me how they report payments every month unlike other every 3 months which boost credit rating.. iwas ecstatic until i Googled there name….i hurried up and canceled the order and requested an email confirmation but they said they didnt have one…Thank G-D i googled them and found these articles
January 22nd, 2009 @ 12:00 pm
I fell into the scam as well! I got my computer after 6 months of payments and still waitin for the rest of my items! I know…. good luck with that! Tronix Country sux!
January 23rd, 2009 @ 9:02 am
I just saw the tronix commercial, thought it was a good deal, but decided to check before I called them. Glad I did. This site helped me from making a huge mistake. Thanks everyone!
January 26th, 2009 @ 11:00 am
I ordered a laptop from tronix and the only reason why I did because one of my friends got a desk top computer from them and she said she didn’t have any problems with them. I should have know something when I first went with Blue Hippo and they gave me the run around so I canceled my order with them but being that she spoke so highly of them I just went with it, but now reading all this from other people I wish I wouldn’t have ordered from tronix. They gave me a delivery date of January 19-Feb 3, 2009 for my deliver date. It’s week two and nothing. I also made a stoopid mistake buy adding a dvd burner and something else that I don’t remember to my laptop. It’s to late to cancel my order being that I have been making payment since August of 2008. If there is a action law suit going yes I want to be apart of it because Blue Hippo wont give me the money back that I paid then thanks God it wasn’t a lot and I want my money back from tronix. When they send my computer I will stop the rest of my payment and see how they like that. Thanks so much for this information and I will surely tell all of my friends do get anythin from tronix or blue hippo because they are very much a rip off. I’m sorry I got involved I won’t be listening to anyone else on any kinds of deals such as these.
January 29th, 2009 @ 8:53 am
Yes i was wondering about this deal! Guys they told me that the computer and printer and an ipod was included after 3 payments. they even told me that the internet was included!
I thnk this is a scam.
January 29th, 2009 @ 9:00 am
Yes i just order this last December. They told me that I would get a free printer and Ipod. But what got me is that you have to pay four months of payment
This is definintly a scam
January 29th, 2009 @ 9:01 am
And addtion your internet is already hooked up hahaha. this is not real!
AM I right or wrong
January 29th, 2009 @ 3:02 pm
Hello
I am currently doing Tronix, It is a scam in a way, they set you up with the idea knowing with small payments you will be able to afford while “improving” credit. I ordered my pc in august, first they had to find a “creditor” to finance you, but why do I need financing if I’m paying cash? So they can delay another month or two and then start to send you things like, “check this box to upgrade memory, or monitor, or dvd burner.
One thing I noticed is if you don’t call them when u send paper work (within 2wks)they won’t send you a confirmation at all!
After almost 6months of paying they send me “shipping verification” forms (which they sent with my inital sign-up). So I filled them back out and hadn’t heard from them in about 3 wks, I call and the rep tells me, “Oh, I c here you are setup with a delivery window of Jan 26- Feb9″ So I’m waiting to see when it will some and what it looks like.
You also end up paying over double for the laptop or pc just because they know they can hook you with the “no credit check”.
To Deidre, unfourtnately if you end the contract you loose that one time fee money and any other payments you have made.
I’ll post again when I receive my laptop.
February 6th, 2009 @ 3:28 pm
this place is a rip off they had another co before this place the man who runs it name is george christian he is rip off an he opens the co. in another name bbb says they have a grade F i don’t know why these sales people are doing that they will risk there lives cause there is some people who will go out to virginia and kick there a$$ i know there adress where they are sitting at this very moment and it is a good thing im not in virginia and anyone that writes that this co. is a good one is on the inside aaaand or is the owner and wants the last people he can get well if anyone has the money to go out there an show up at the place needs to go i wish i had the money to go out there cause i would the man was indited they are at 2004 forbes st. chesapeake va. suite 211 and they have the office around back so if this co. reads this go ahead and email me i will get my people with your people i say we rent a bus and pick people up on the way and go out there and show them some computers a such
February 6th, 2009 @ 11:14 pm
I work for Tronix, and while I don’t think it’s the best deal, it works well for many people, but you have to follow the contract. We stick to it rigidly even at times that it may seem petty. We don’t go outside the contract and everything is informed to customers in the documents they sign. Most people admit they never read the contract, that’s not our problem. I’m sick of people saying they’re being scammed or robbed when everything is spelled out for you plain as day. And before you sign the contract the verbal agreement is read to you, again plain as day, and you agree. Is it necessarilly fair? No, but it’s all informed to customers and it’s not broken by the company. Good luck with a law suit…the contract’s pretty iron clad.
February 7th, 2009 @ 12:20 am
I loved my computer from Tronix. It was the best deal and the customer service reps are so nice. Whoever has a problem with them is just crazy!
February 7th, 2009 @ 12:52 am
i guess in this day and time with all the layoffs you have to stoop down to your bosses level to keep your little job with tronics country ,
enjoy it while you can .
oh by the way they are still rip offs!!
February 7th, 2009 @ 1:11 am
when say you “loved” your computer does that mean that it did’nt last .
oh wait let me guess your going to write back and say its the best computer anyone could ever have!
you must work for these low lifes too .
and as for as crazy goes. the pot must be calling kettle black.
the problem is going to be tronix country when a
class action lawsuit is strapped on them.
you know its bad when BBB wont have anything to do with you.remember this you can only do wrong for so long then it catches up with you.
February 7th, 2009 @ 1:16 am
for everyone thats been rippedoff by them. let at least three people every day know about your experience .
you can say thats a good deed for the day!
February 7th, 2009 @ 1:22 am
ripoffs , scammers .
pass it on to as many people as you can.
February 7th, 2009 @ 8:37 am

they dont like it they can kiss my …!!!
February 8th, 2009 @ 6:08 pm
Do not fall for these “credit” scams! Get educated. You can buy a complete computer system at Walmart for $500. Save up and pay cash, because the borrower is slave to the lender.
February 9th, 2009 @ 12:32 pm
there is also a web site called rippoff report.com
with enough postings on that site we could possibly get some legal help an put these crooks out of bussiness.
you see with me its not just about the money .
its about treating people the way you want to be treated.
by the way tronix is still rippoffs.
February 12th, 2009 @ 1:38 am
i wished i would have found this website before dealing with them they are a rip off… and major scam artist.. ive been paying on this computer for months now and still havent recieved it.. and i tryed cancelling it, but they told me i wont get my money back it would go as store credit.. what type of bullshit is that, and i am welling to join an action law suit…
February 18th, 2009 @ 3:13 am

sO MY last postwas Jan29th waiting on my pc almost a month later no pc. My delivery window was no later than Feb. 9. I recieved a modem and then checked my order # with dell, and guess what, my order had been cancelled and resubmitted. I called tronix country and they said, “dell had a technical issue and it will be shipped on Feb13″ I still have no tracking number! I’m trying to do what I can to SHUT them down any1 I know I would tell to never go thru with them or companies like them!!!
So me being the genius I can be some time I looked up their dell customer number and in the last 45 days they have ordered over 1000 pc/laptops with @ least 200 or more being cancelled and “resubmitted”
For some 1 that is like me that was in too deep by the time you found this site, Plz make sure you pay ON TIME and you check on them weekly with calls, because they never notify you!!! It will save time and hassle.

I have wanted a computer for a very long time. Everyone I ever knew had one but me. Gosh by golly, I couldnt afford that kind of money at once. Ive tried rent a center, your a day late, their at at your door hauling your computer out. Thats without over exaggerating. Plus you spend over $3000.00 for a used computer.I tried putting money aside but their was always something more important that came along before I could gain enough to get my computer whether it was baby, car, or bills or those unexpecting things that just happen in your everyday life.
So now for me,Tronix Country was a good deal. As the contract said/as I had first thought, as long as I pay my bill on time, my computer will come on time and my credit score will gradually go up “As Long As I Keep My End Of The Bargain”, as I did. Now of course I new in my mind there would be times that something may come up and I may not have been able to pay. So before I made any agreement, being a responsable person, I ASKED QUESTIONS. What kind of dummy would I have been if I didn’t knowing what could happen. So they where completely honest with me when I asked, If one week I had trouble paying, is there anything you could do to help? And the woman told me that I just had to call ahead and let them know when I could pay and to just make sure I made those arrangements. and so I did. They where 100% cooperative with my situation and I got my computer after 3 and a half weeks after I signed and sent the forms. They had said between 3 and six weeks. And I will tell you, Im the type that if someone screws me, they wont get away with it and its not even the money, its the principle of the matter. Now I know Im paying more for this than I normally would if I could pay straight out of my pocket, but I thought ide never own one. And thats why this company offers this deal to people like me in my situation. It would be my own fault if I didn’t pay and call ahead. Not theirs. Its 2 times cheeper than what you end up paying at rent a center. I went to cicuit city and did my homework. before I added the upgrade to my computer, I would have paid around 200.00 more not including shipping costs. So say 350.00 more. Not bad for being able to make payments on it. Not to mention other things that I didn’t even know about when I first called like what you get once its paid. Might be cheep stuff, might not, either way, who cares, I wasn’t expecting it. They didn’t have to offer that stuff. Now as I see it, I dont know exactly what happened with any of you, but I will tell you that if you read the contract, asked questions when you didn’t understand something, and asked for help when you needed it instead of letting your accounts go into default, you would have gotten your computer on time and you would see a change in your credit scores and probably wouldn’t have any problems. And even still, if you did, Im sure it would be minor and fixable. Thats IF YOU DID! I dont work for tronix country, I dont know anyone that works there, I think you are all just pissed because you didn’t follow what you signed up for and all you people just come to this sight to feel like you actually know what your talking about because if you all had any brains at all you would have done like I did and got completely informed in what you where doing to begin with. And i dont mean listening to whoever on this sight that say what they want because they didn’t follow the rules of the program, I mean actually asking questions and READING THE CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN IT AND SEND IT OUT. Just because you couldn’t make your payments and your pissed because you have to suffer the consequences, dont try to make people like me that are happy they can finally get a computer and dont get them scared and upset and say only half the storie just because you cant tell your WHOLE TRUTH and you cant except the fact you screwed up. Come on guys, tell the rest of your stories. What was it, you couldn’t make your payments so your computers are taken longer to come in. There are two sides to every storie and the guilty ones never tell the whole storie. So many stories but no rational explanations. Is it really tronix or are you just not telling us everything so everyone eles thats upset jumps on the band wagon and agrees for a false sense of importance. COME ON! If Better Business Bureau really had a problem, trust me, Tronix would not be standing today. Someone would have sued or Better Business Bureau would have stepped up by now but obviously theres no ligit reasoning to shut them down!!!! BBB is just trying to shut you up. They have no intentions of doing anything because Tronix hasn’t done anything wronge. What, they may have charged a bit extra for their stuff but if that was a crime, every business in this country would be guilty!
You wait for people to write to give them a peice of your mind… Mike, because your obviously guilty pissed and it makes you feel better for some sad reason to try to put them down by “giving them a peice of your mind” because they did good with the program and that bothers you. Unlike You. Tronix didn’t work for you and your crying about it like a little…Get off the pitty pot and Get over it and go back to school and learn how to read and raise your hand and stop waisting everyones time with your childish non-sence. You did the electronic signature and at that point you made your own decision. You agreed to those terms they read to you. You must have been sleeping through it because I did just fine and am still doing fine as well as many others. The few that are not come here to cry about it. Maybe some people there where mistakes made but im sure with a phone call it can be easily fixed. But Im sure you wouldn’t be this pissed if you didn’t have a guilty conscience.
And you “Scheryl aint putin up wthe this scam?” To threaten the company, thats just not mature. You need to go through puberty and learn how to do things right. And to say something like you did to this hannah chic, that was just sick, I wonder what kind of family you grew up with and what happened to you as a child to make you feel so filthy you would actually say something like that to this poor girl you dont have a clue about that was only speaking her experience with tronix just like you did. but she obviously has alot of class because shes so above you she didn’t even respond to such a sick comment. You need some serious therapy. The sad thing is, the sick people dont even know their sick until another person has to point it out to them. That was just wronge to say scheryl. Did that make you feel good? Did that make you feel cool? your a really cool person now scheryl? Your pretty sad to me. Your poor mother. I wonder what she thinks about how she raised you. Your a real disappointment to her arent you! I bet she wants nothing to do with you because of how trashy you are. I hope you dont have any children. They wouldn’t have any respect. Their first words would be telling people to go sit on their father. The only type of guy you can probably find is some pervert that touches his children. Because thats what you attract when you speak that way. God, I REALLY HOPE YOU DONT HAVE ANY CHILDREN!
Hows that feel Scheryl? Not nice ha! Actually preety sickening right. Thats alright, your judgement day will come!
February 18th, 2009 @ 11:51 am

February 18th, 2009 @ 1:33 pm
I agree with u mike! She must work fo tronix. I never missed a payment, I have direct deposit so my payment is always there. I’ll be done with payments in April and I haven’t recieved my laptop. I thought this would be good so I could raise my credit score. I found a way to see their Dell orders for the last year and I see a pattern of them changing peoples order right before shipping would happen so then the order would be resubmitted with another 2-3weeks before you get it. Tronix is full of shit simply put! You people that can’t save for a few months need to buckle down because there will always be people like Tronix and such and we can’t be the fools that take the bait.
February 18th, 2009 @ 10:02 pm
In the BBB (non-profit organization) states that there are less than 30 complaints and each one resolved or had best intentions in resolving them. How many customers can we imagine they have? They have thousands, what I do believe is that they need more employees in the Auditing Department. If you need to fax some document to them it takes 5-10 business days to update your account. Customer service has been very clear with me, bad news and good news. I received my computer on time, I enjoy my promotional items and cant wait for my LCD TV! Read everything before you sign! Entertainers have loss there fortunes because they did not read the contract! Nobody was obligated to sign with Tronix Country unless they founded it was a need!
February 19th, 2009 @ 11:13 am

Ok, I’ve seen everyone complain about both blue hippo and Tronix, I have seen the tv commercial even today a few times and knew right off that it was a rip off!
First off, $30 per week is $120 a month for a crappy low grade pc.
If you can afford $120 per month, why not start buying the parts needed to build your own pc?
Start off by buying a nice case. (some come with a power supply but at $120 it’s most likely a crappy one)
then next month buy yourself a 500GB hard drive. (aprox. $80) and perhaps some memory.
2gb of Kingston value ram is about $35-$40.
Next month buy a motherboard (anywhere from $80-$300 depending on what you want to buy, but buying a small form factor/micro ATX board with on board video is a good way of avoiding the cost of a video card initially and you can add one later)
Then buy yourself a processor the following month. (remember, you don’t need the biggest one to start with and it can be upgraded later and sell your old processor on a buy and sell site) A lower end processor with decent speed is around $120.
With this, you’ve created a computer less the optical drive, key board, mouse or screen.
A DVD burner can be bought new for $35, you can get a basic keyboard and mouse for $30 and sometimes even a wireless Logitech set for the same price.
Now all you need is a monitor and some speakers. (something you can find used cheap even if it’s a tube monitor and not a flat screen) Again, you can upgrade those items later.
Don’t fall for crap like tronix.
I was just curious when I saw the ad on tv and had to Google it. This is what I expected to see.
I have been building my own pc’s for years now, it’s not hard if you can use a screwdriver, follow install instructions or have a handy friend. As for software, there is always someone that can help you out. Even to buy xp pro is $150 or less and you own it.
Good luck to all you poor victims of a really bad scam.
February 28th, 2009 @ 6:36 pm
By the way, if you have a flat panel tv in the house, it can be used as your computer monitor for the time being. (most flat panel tvs have the 15 pin input to support it.
March 4th, 2009 @ 1:59 am
It’s so sad to see people fall this crap. Common sense tells you it’s a SCAM. And where is the FTC? The government needs to shut this sh1t down. Oh, that’s right, they’re too busy with Madoff.

i was customer with tronix country. i needed a compuetr bad, so the commercial came on tv, i heard all the good things that supposed to come with it, i was like okay. let me try them out, so i did. i called them up, set up an account with them and so on. they sent me some paperwork thru the mail to sign and returned it with a blank check, so i did. after making a couple of payment, i figured i wasnt gonna be able to afford it. 44.95$ every week was just too much for me. i musta paid by almost a thousand when i decided to call it quit. i called them up to cancel, they charged me cancellation fee and the 99$ activation fee, after dat they told me i got 700$ left. i asked ” is dat money going str8 into my account or thru the mail” they replied “no cash back”. i went off on them. they were like a deal’s a deal, paper already signed, it’s either u buy something else from us or risk losing your money. i didnt know wut else to do so i decided to get something cheaper with da money left. i was real angry that i got myself into it. im warning everyone tronix country doesnt offer good deal and if u tryna get outta the deal you not gon get ur cash back.
April 1st, 2009 @ 12:02 pm
I have to agree, I looked at the site and for a generic pc tronix is way too expensive!!! I mean I have to admit weekly payments are convienient, but there are much better programs. I am getting my top of the line Compaq presaio for about 1000 total through payments from a local company… Much better deal than the joke these people are offering. I am happy there is at least one person out there who is revealing this scam..
Thank you
April 1st, 2009 @ 12:06 pm
oh yeah, not to mention you can buy a good 42″ LCD TV at Wal-mart for like 250-400…. better than the 1200 they are asking for a generic 32″ on tronix…
April 5th, 2009 @ 8:45 pm
i listen to this comercial on the radio and sounded a little fishy. did some research and found out that the same founder for blue hippo Bruce E. Mattare is the found for tronix country. ssems shady. good thing i did my research.
April 7th, 2009 @ 3:18 am
For all the people out there who hate Tronix… here is some inside info. The President and General Manager of Tronix country is also the co-founder of a well know scammer, Blue Hippo! Bruce left Blue hippo in 2004 to do waht you make ask?? to start his own scam. If anyone needs info on this company please reply to this post. I am deep into this company
April 7th, 2009 @ 3:27 am
and one more thing people. in a part of thier program on the phone they say.
” if you understand that you have purchased a brand new computer on layaway today and that this VERBAL layaway agreement is legally binding please say the word OK”
as soon as that customer say’s ok …they are in whether they like it or not. So for the people farther up on the page that said read the contract before you sign… It really doesnt make a difference if you sign or not. or for that matter even if you send the contract back to them. Because that call is recorded and it can be used to prove you agreed.
I do not support this company in any form or fasion…they will get what is coming to them
April 16th, 2009 @ 10:23 pm
Thanks to all the input. Was going to join Tronix tomorrow because I have heard the ad on XM radio every 1/2 hour. I feel now that it is not worth it and very risky. Imagine all the people who don’t check up on Tronix….that’s how they stay in business.
April 28th, 2009 @ 10:43 pm
my computer came in 5 weeks and then turned over to duval financial and i have had no problems
April 28th, 2009 @ 11:02 pm

May 18th, 2009 @ 1:43 pm
Good thing gone bad?
Back in 2007, my son bought a computer from them. Definitely a bad value, but kids know everything. He paid (on time), he got his stuff, he was happy (but agreed he paid alot).
*** Fast forward ***
Oct 2008, his girlfriend bought a laptop. She’s made every payment and still nothing. Calling seems to be pointless, just excuses and rudeness.
My opinion… save up, go to Walmart, Office Depot, etc. If you’re a techie/geek, build your own.
Just my 2 cents, without attacks or bad-mouthing.
May 28th, 2009 @ 12:28 pm
Yes, I, too, have fell for this bullsh–. I am a single parent of 3 children…one of which is a freshman in college. I don’t have a lot of money and I sure don’t have enough saved nor do I have enough to pay all at once for a laptop. My daughter was the only one in her dorm NOT to have a laptop of her own. Her roommates are very generous, but if they needed to use their computers, my daughter would have to be at the library at all hours or out in bad weather. It made me so sad to think about it. So here comes this damn Tronix commercial, over and over and over again. I fell for it hook, line and sinker! Talk about being vulnerable. All I wanted was to surprise my daughter with a laptop. I’m so glad I never mentioned it to her because since October 2008, I haven’t heard sh– and I haven’t received sh–! I have gone from vulnerable to just freakin’ pissed off! I do not have money to give away. I am so sick of these scam artists playing on poor people’s vulnerability (just like them damn work-from-home scams). I want my money back now! If a lawsuit is considered, please include me. I work too hard for my money. Everyone that has been duped into some kind of a contract or put money out should receive a full refund plus extra just for the aggravation.
May 28th, 2009 @ 6:32 pm
There’s a difference between a rip-off and a scam. What Tronix Country does is entirely legal, like it or not. They advertise, targetting people with little or no credit, who think they must have a computer, and they tell you that you only need to pay $29 a week for 12 months; that makes it sound a lot cheaper than $29 a week for 52 weeks, even though the time frame is the same.
Their commercial is similar to the commercial where the guy starts out by telling you “Hey, we’ll get back to the program in just a sec but did you hear about this great thing on the internet, you can sell things you don’t buy or have to pay for, your computer does all the work” and then when he gives you the phone number to call, he makes it sound like he’s not reading a script, saying “the number is… uh, I got it here, 123-XXXX”. It’s a great commercial and it makes it sound like he’s just a neighbor who’s trying to help you, and is unscripted; when in reality, it’s a very well written script.
If you need a computer, save $29 a week for 3 months and you’ll have about $360; you can buy a computer with a warranty; it might not be a great computer, but you’ll have one for a lot less money, and your payments will be over a lot quicker.
That said, you’re not getting an LED TV, a printer, an MP3 player, or anything else free. You’re paying for it. It’s being paid for by part of that $29 a week. And, if they’re giving it to you “free”, do you think they’re giving you top of the line merchandise because they’re generous? They’re in business; that’s why they’re selling you the computer. Because they’re in business.
Sorry, but if you’re in that much of a financial bind, if you’re willing to pay a company $29 a week for a year - for 52 weeks so you can have a computer and try to help your credit score, maybe you shouldn’t worry about a fancy free TV, or a fancy free printer, or a fancy MP3 player (because they’re not giving them to you free, and they’re not going to be fancy).
If you already have a TV, use it; don’t pay Tronix Country hoping for something better. Do with less.
If you need a printer, you can buy a cheap basic printer from any computer or supply store; it won’t be fancy but it will do the job. Besides, it will cost you more for printer supplies, in the long run, than it will for the printer.
And, do you really need the MP3 player? If you need to listen to music, buy a small transister radio and get your choice of stations, or buy a bottom line MP3 player.
If you don’t really need to computer but simply want one, consider using your local library; most allow you an hour or two a day free use; all you need to do is have a library card and wait in line if there are more users than computers. And realize you’ll pay for printing.
What Tronix Country is doing isn’t illegal. It’s entirely legal and they make you sign an iron-clad contract that’s entirely in their favor. You agree to pay them to start your account with them; you agree to pay them to pay them so much a week for a year; you agree that you understand they’ll send you computer, and your “free” TV, and your “free” printer, and your “free” MP3 player sometime in the future. And if you miss payments or are late, you either have to pay a penalty or you forfeit what you paid them, or you forfeit what you paid them and have to return the merchandise in a certain condition (often “in original condition”) - meaning if there are scratches or damage they don’t have to accept it back because they can’t resell it, and you’re still responsible for paying everything you agree to pay when you signed your contract.
Is it legal? Yes
Is it ethical? No
Is it preying on people with little money they can spare? Definitely
Are there better choices? Yes. But most people will miss what they’re saying, only hearing the part about “you can get a computer even if you have bad or no credit… and we’re gonna give you a bunch of gifts we’re not going to charge your for.”
Save your money for a little while; talk to a local computer store and ask what they can give that will do what you want (surf the internet, write word documents, and so on). If you don’t have a lot of money, you’re not going to be buying a lot of fancy computer games - you can’t afford to. You only need the basics, and you need to think about how to pay for using the internet.
So think about it before you call Tronix Country. What they’re doing is entirely for themselves; they’re making money, and they’re making the deal so good for them, and so tight that you can’t break out of it. They’re not cheating you; they’re just using you. And your money.

sounds like another satisfied tronics worker
to me !.
in my eyes they still suck.
there name needs to be scamtronics.
July 1st, 2009 @ 5:04 pm
I knew this was a scam the first time I saw the irritating commercial. It doesn’t make me sad to hear these stories of single parents (desperate for a laptop) that got “taken.” It actually thoroughly amuses me.
Think about it for a minute. If you have no money to pay for something, it’s going to cost more because of the credit involved.
If I have $15 and I want to buy a new refrigerator, I can either save up and wait, or end up paying MUCH more to get instant gratification.
You must be fairly stupid to fall for something like these Tronix Country Ads. You can get a Windows XP Dell with all the accessories like an LCD flat-panel monitor and printer for $400-$500 on eBay, even less from the right seller.

Also, a lot of these “customers” leave some of the most untelligible comments I have ever seen on a message board. I guess Tronix Country knows who they’re marketing to.
July 13th, 2009 @ 4:42 pm
I don’t think its a scam a little misleading yes.But now of days what isn’t we live in a world today where its all about the money. no one cares about who they scam to get it or how long as they get it. Even thought they say u pay for the laptop and get all the other things free u don’t in all u really end up paying for all the stuff u get. Thats what all the money if for, but when people hear about free items they jump on it not realizing they no really getting it for free. I order from them got my stuff so as for it being a scam don’t think so. Misleading like everything is today in this world yes.
July 17th, 2009 @ 4:43 pm
I have seen this TV commercial before, I thought it was cool to get a computer along with a mp3 player, printer and LCD TV. I called last night signed up, and the the next day I went to check the status of the order, and they said that it was cost me $99 for the first month and the $151.98 for the next 12 months. I decided to just cancel the order and account. Don’t get fooled by such scam like this one. It will take forever like around 3 months to get your computer and the LCD TV at the end of the program.

July 19th, 2009 @ 3:22 pm
It’s not only a bad deal, it’s an incredibly horribly bad deal. I broke it down as much as I could over on my site. It’s legal, but it’s predatory in the extreme. I’m glad other sites are trying to warn people.

I am an ex-employee of Tronix. I stayed a whole three weeks before I realized what they were doing. I didn’t read all the responses here, so forgive me if I repeat things already said.
First off, TronixCountry IS Bluehippo. After Blue Hippo settled all their lawsuits, they claimed Bankruptcy and re-formed under a new name. I Don’t remember if they used another name between Hippo and Tronix.
Their #1 Goal: Get as MUCH money as possible and make it near impossible to get it back.
Here’s how they do it:
First, they get your initial payment. They do this without ANY paperwork being signed. Which means if it makes it to court, YOU have to prove you paid them. They don’t have to prove you DIDN’T pay them.
IF you go that far, and this is where they get you. A percentage of people don’t bother. They lose their $124 and decide, either by pure irritation, or the feeling of futility that $124 is worth just letting it go.
If you’re unlucky enough to actually get and SIGN said paperwork, prepare to lose A LOT more money. As mentioned above by the time you pay for this “new” computer, not only have you paid 3 times what it’s worth, but by the time you DO get them to send it, it’s out dated.
Also, let’s figure up the payments. $29.99/Week. That’s $120/Month. In 5 months, you’d have enough to go to Dell or who ever else and buy a NEW computer out right. Hell, my CAR insurance isn’t $120/month.
As for the “freebies”, these are EXTREMELY low end electronics, purchased from Over Stock warehouses over seas. They get them at an extreme discount because they buy in bulk from countries with no manufacturing standards. While I was with the company, I read several RMA reports (Return Merchandise Authorization) of Televisions catching on FIRE. One couple’s house burned down because the TV was OFF and they were out to dinner when it happened. What was our response? This is after it was PROVEN it was the Television’s fault: There’s NOTHING we can do for you. Your home owners insurance will have to take care of it.
Hopefully, more people will realize they’re being scammed and do something about this company. I myself submitted an affidavit to my local D.A. office disclosing what I know of the place. (I never signed a non-disclosure form)
Anyway, my 2 cents.

First of all, thank you for opening my eyes. My PC is really slow, and I’m looking for a great deal. I saw Tronic County’s Commercial a few nights ago, and was intrigue by it, with those FREE things. But before that, I first saw Blue Hippo’s Commercial a couple months ago.
So, I decided to look it up in GOOGLE. I typed in Blue Hippo, but then another word pop up…SCAM. So, I checked it out. Then, I went back to check out TRONIX COUNTY, again the word SCAM came out. That is how I found this website.
Here is what I found on the NET:
BlueHippo Funding, LLC is an installment credit company founded by Joseph Rensin for customers with poor credit that offers personal computers, flat-screen televisions, and other high-tech items. The company has encountered several complaints with the Better Business Bureau; as a result, the Greater Maryland Better Business Bureau issued a consumer alert against the company within eight months of its founding.[1] Cofounder Bruce E. Mattare left the company in 2004 to start TronixCountry, which has offered merchandise with installment terms similar in scope to BlueHippo.[2]
BlueHippo’s main product is a personal computer system. Their radio commercials state that a customer must build a “short credit history” to qualify. The payment is made through an installment plan.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has received 8,000 pages of complaints and launched an investigation of the company. As of February 2008 the FTC settled its grievances with BlueHippo and required the company to pay up to $5,000,000 to settle the FTC’s charges. In April 2009, a federal court found BlueHippo in contempt for not issuing reports to the FTC as required by the settlement.[3][4]
The Maryland Attorney General reached a settlement with Blue Hippo in 2007.[5] Under the terms of the settlement, the company agreed to pay restitution to consumers who overpaid or did not receive their goods.
Bill McCollum, Florida Attorney General has said, “We think that overall, this is a very deceptive trade practice.”[6]
The Tennessee Attorney General filed a civil lawsuit for alleged deceptive practices against BlueHippo companies, as well as proposing an injunction requiring greater disclosures in advertising and prior to obtaining further payments, as well as the freezing of $2.5 million in cash.[7][8] West Virginia also sued BlueHippo.[9] [10]
As of August 31, 2007 the Better Business Bureau has received over 1400 grievances from all over the United States.[6] “Due to this pattern of complaints and BlueHippo’s failure to correct the underlying causes for the complaints, the company is rated ‘unsatisfactory’.”[11]
BlueHippo changed its business practices to include a refund policy in mid-2006. However, the BBB reports: “In November and December 2006, however, the volume of complaints rose again and the BBB has renewed concerns about the effectiveness of the company’s efforts to reduce the volume and pattern of complaints. Current complaints allege the company is slow to provide promised refunds and there continue to be delays in delivery of the merchandise.” [1] As of January 1, 2007, BlueHippo offers a full refund if customers cancel during the first 7 days. However, any order canceled after the grace period will receive “store credit” only. This store credit will only allow customers to buy items on the company website.

I’ve posted earlier but would like to ask the people who ordered their computer from Tronix Country: Did you order the computer because you thought you were getting a good deal on a computer? Did you order the computer because you didn’t have credit and this company told you they didn’t care if you had bad credit or even no credit? (If you had no credit credit, why should they take a chance on you? If they had bad credit, would you sell them something they had to pay you for a year?) Or, did you order the computer because they were giving you all these free things?
If them giving you a television, a printer, and an MP3 player was that important to you, why didn’t you go out and buy that from someplace else, instead of locking yourself into paying for a computer for a year (or, as they say, for 12 months - which sounds like a shorter time)?
Just asking

tronix is not a bad deal
August 28th, 2009 @ 7:04 pm
The owner of Tronix Country lost his virginity to his mom. His mom is a street hooker who still sells her old withered body to truckers for 25 cents a pop.
This loser started this company to cheat people who are vulnerable.
I heard that an angry customer contacted a Haitian Voodoo person and put an evil spell on this loser owner of Tronix Country. THe evil spell will cause the owner of Tronix Countr to go crazy and he will kill his own family, decapitate them, skull foke them and then birn them.
Then this loser will go to jail where bubba will burn his a$$
August 29th, 2009 @ 12:08 am
I just signed up with Tronix and just got my papers in the mail to sign and return with my canceled check. I am so glad I came online to look for comments on this company. You guys have opened my eyes, I do have bad credit because of my bankruptsy and was just denied by DELL for a laptop and my TV just went up so I saw this as a way to get a new laptop and a new TV and other free gifts. I do know that nothing is free in this world its going to cost u something, but I never thought that so many people had so many issues with one company
I just wanted to thank you all for this information I will call first thing monday morn and cancel this mess and shred this sales order form. Ur right I will save that 99.00 plus the 39.99 ( laptop) a week and in lets say 16 weeks I can buy a computer at the Black Friday sales the day after Thanksgiving that will give me about $660.00 by then..what u think?
September 5th, 2009 @ 7:52 am
I’ll try to be short and sweet, and to add THE BEST COMMENT available in relation to my experience and situation.
In My opinion, the moment you read a comment with profanity or grammatical erros, then I believe you should stop reading that comment.
My credit is not THAT bad. It is not the first time I have lost money either. I don’t know about you but I can’t save worth-a-shit. No, not even fifty bucks a week. I spend it on beer’n’stuff.
If you really want a computer fast, then Tronix is not your solution, I ordered my computer on May 10th 2009. In order to expedite, I gave the three payments at once plus the $99 activation fee. I barely received the computer on August 29, 2009. It took so long that, in order to check my email, I bought an old computer.
Tronix contacted me to tell me they had some sort of problem and they were going to add three more weeks to the delivery. I told them that I had saved enough money (Lie) and that I was going to Wal-Mart to buy a new computer. They offered me an AMD pc in three days delivery. I told them I was offended.
The contract stated they were going to send me a DELL. I dont know too much about computers, but I was not going to go with a twenty-dollar proccesor.
They paused my bi-weekly $59 payments and told me they would continue to withdrawl once I received the PC. Yes, the DELL is badass, yet at the initial contract they promised a Flat panel TV,Printer,MP3,and Digital Camera.
I have not yet received any of those items and at this point I don’t even care because I was starting to believe they had totally and completely ripped-me-off.
The payments are coming out of my direct-deposit therefore I never see the money (Which is good).
Conclusion: This program is as good as Gary Coleman’s CASHCALL. A TOTAL RIP-OFF.
Question:
Would I recommend this program to anyone?
ANSWER:
Yes, to my mother-in-law (JOKE)
J.

Just for giggles I called this company–They forget to advertise you must pay a $99 dollar set up fee up front along with the $29.99 payment (oh yeah–add sales tax to the payment and your payment is closer to $32 dollars a month) and the payments have to be debited from your account electronically. Plus their superfast computer is actually the low end model you can buy at wally world for around $299. Just think –they sell you a computer for about $1700 after 12 months of payments and your set up fee and it only cost them about $150 wholesale–talk about loan sharking!!!
September 8th, 2009 @ 1:47 pm
I agree in full!!! I only needed to view the website for 2 seconds to see the “Netbook” priced at $499. One can purchase this at W*****t for a mere $299.
September 19th, 2009 @ 3:22 am
ING account? That’s like buying Enron stock, or computers from Blue Hippo. Funny.
September 26th, 2009 @ 4:07 pm
wow..I could tell after hearing the ad for 10sec that It was a scam. It’s sad that people dont know who the REAL criminals are in this country..and we let these people in our homes everyday. These criminals have studied the laws and advertising and have learned its all about how u phrase something that will keep them from going to jail. Every ad will have the word ‘now’ somehow..it mostly subliminal. My fav is when the throw up a countdown clock..or the ad that asked everyone with the last name between a and h to call today and the rest call tomorrow. Its like watching psychology in action.

I Pastor a church and applied for this program. I gave the initial documents required, a voided check signed by two signatories. I received a call saying that the company had never dealt with an organization before and needed more information. I provided a copy of the bank signature card showing all five signatures including the two on the voided check. There was an issue with the mailing address versus the delivery address. I stated to the Manager, Tiffany, that the reason was that there was not a secure drop location at the church for the item(s). I was then told by Tiffany, who is suppose to be a manager, that the account was approved and the product was being shipped. I arrived at my office and Tiffany even called that number to tell me that she received all my documantation and I now have a shipping date. She indicated that the “auditing dept” want to make sure they understood the difference between the mailing address and the delivery address, which I again explained was unsecured. I came home and even had a recording stating that the product was being shipped. One day after I received that call, Miguel who is Tiffany’s boss (he said) called me on my cell (oh yes I gave my home, church office and cell numbers) telling me to best protect identity theft I need to give him a copy of my drivers licence and a copy of my social security card to identify who I really was. One of the customer service representatives told me that they denied our application and could not refund the Church’s money, but would could offer us store credit. So, let me get this right. They did not approve the account after all the documention, but want to offer store credit for an account that was not approved. I am on my way to 8001 Forbes Place, St 211, Springfield Va on Monday November 2, 2009 and I will get resolution or have the police come to that location and file a formal theft by deception charge.
November 1st, 2009 @ 6:53 pm
So, did any of you bother to report this scam?
November 2nd, 2009 @ 1:42 pm
What exactly is there to report, Alex? The problem with this “deal” is that the terms are clearly laid out on the site … but nobody reads the fine print.

Tronix Country is a scam!!! They sold me an MP4 Player as they called it for 149.99, when it cam it was nothing more that na MP3 player with a screen, plus the never removed the price tag off of it. They paid 49.99 for it from a place called InkStop. DO NOT USE TRONIX COUNTRY! Learn from my mistake…

After reading these posts I am amazed at number of lies spread. I work for Tronix Country and most of what these angry people post are lies. We are NOT Blue Hippo and we don’t send people crappy merchandise and nobodys house was ever burned down because of it
Whoever claims they worked here, I never met them and I know everybody here from the bottom to the top.
We work hard to give people good service and it shows in what they say. You probably never looked at our website. http://www.tronixcountry.com Go to links at bottom of faqs, you can hear it in peoples own words
Sure some people are not happy with Tronix Country but I deal with those people most of the time and those that are unhappy it is thru no fault of the company
GROW UP people and take responsibility for your own actions
I have seen this place go out of its way to deliver superior products and superior service
Our motto is we do what we say, which in todays society is refreshing
Sure, u can save money, in an ING account but most people have NO idea what that is, in fact a lot of people who call us cannot even get a bank account so we cant help them.
People are simply ignorant how the credit and banking systems work in this country.
Try seeing how people treat you when ur credit is shot bc you got sick and couldn’t pay ur bills. See what its like when all get is turn down after turn down. Believe me , the people who work at Tronix Country are honest and care about making sure the customer is treated well. We just released our updated guide How to Better Undertand Your Credit and Basics to Financial Planning. Who has ever heard of a finance company giving its own customers how to get out of debt??? We get a lot of repeat business from customers who are very aware that they can buy a computer from Bestbuy or Walmart but they choose to buy from us again and again.
I know we are doing something right. As far as the rest of the crap posted here, I can tell u its lies and if you had a bad experience, send the company an email info@tronixcountry.com and if company made a mistake, you can bet it will be fixed. Bottom line is we are here to provide a service and help people.

Then the lady said we don’t work like that. I said well I’m stopping payment on my laptop since you all don’t want to send me another laptop. I called my bank and stopped all payments.
November 23rd, 2009 @ 8:11 pm
OOOH PLEASE!!! mike u attack the messenger and avoid the message. Insulting people like telling them to go back to their street corner really is reflection of u and not Tronix COuntry If Tronix Country did something wrong then send email to info@tronixcountry.com. Feel free to post ur email and response. If u didnt do anything wrong then I dont know what you are trying to accomplish here
Keeshay-
EVERY store or company requires that customers return any merchandise not working right for replacement. Would Walmart give u a second computer because u said the one you bought and have at home isnt working??? It is so easy to make this right.

December 3rd, 2009 @ 9:06 pm
I worked at a call center for tronix country….We tell people we’re located in Virginia when we are really located in Connecticut….Why, you ask???? Because it’s a huge scam and we don’t want you to know where we are cause people get REALLY mad when they get ripped off….Imagine that??…Give them a call and ask them how much the computer is right off the bat….they will refuse to tell you and say in exact words “the prices vary depending on the package that you pick, I’d be happy to go over the whole program with you”….When really the prices don’t vary at all, there is a desktop and a laptop and they are both the cheapest Dells that you can buy at any given time. In fact we will get fired if we tell you the price before we tell you all of the specs of the computer and describe the program….TRUE story.. AND…..Just so you are all aware, when you ask us the final price….we are gonna read some rebuttal that starts off “I think you’d be happy to discover that the price is right about in the middle of the pack for a brand new brand name desktop/laptop computer…..BUT the truth is that we aren’t giving you the real price there either….And we never will during the whole conversation…OH…AND I almost forgot…The so called free shit you are getting, the printer, t.v, digi cam, MP4 player, and $250 worth of software (which is really just a disc with programs that you already have on your computer)…Are the crappiest pieces of junk you can imagine…Meaning they aren’t name brand or anything and you don’t get them till you pay off your computer anyway. So really they aren’t free, you are paying for them seeing that you are paying about $2000 for a crappy desktop computer. Don’t feel bad they treat their employees like crap too… We have to sell computers to 15% of the people that call us all week to make comission which is $3 dollars per computer that you sell… So translation….you never make commision you always ALMOST get it….Why??? because the bosses tweak the numbers to make sure they don’t have to pay you….Anyway….Make sure you don’t swear at the cust. service reps cause then they can make sure the call doesnt count against them….. TAKE IT FROM AN EX EMPLOYEE THIS IS A SCAM OF THE HIGHEST ORDER!!!!! DON’T DO IT PEOPLE!!!! WE ARE GONNA TAKE MORE MONEY THEN WE SAY WE WILL….AND THAT’S A PROMISE.
December 3rd, 2009 @ 9:09 pm
OH YEAH AND THEY SAY YOU HAVE SEVEN DAYS TO CANCEL AND YOU’LL OWE NOTHING BUT THAT’S ALSO A LIE…..THE CUSTOMER CARE NUMBER THEY GIVE YOU, THEY WILL TELL YOU YOUR ORDER HASN’T BEEN PROCESSED YET AND ANYTHING ELSE THEY CAN SAY TO MAKE SURE YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY THE $99 DOWN PAYMENT……DONT DO IT
December 7th, 2009 @ 7:57 pm
Well I can tell you for sure you never worked for Tronix Country. We don’t employ anyone in Connecticut. We are located in Springfield Virginia. http://www.Tronixcountry has all our contact info as well as FAQs about the company. Like many companies that contract out services, you may have worked for a company that was contracted by Tronix Country but you NEVER worked for Tronix Country.
Believe me when I say that overagreesive sales people make it really hard for us with customers. I’ve seen Managers have call center Reps fired on the spot for lying to customers. I don’t know what your story is, but I hope that your not just saying these things because you were one of those fired contractors. It sounds like the issue you have is really with the company you worked for and not Tronix Country and that leaving that company was step in right direction for YOU and I wish you luck. As for me and those that actually do work for Tronix Country—we go out of our way to meet –if not exceed customers needs. Again—good luck

December 9th, 2009 @ 4:05 pm
Wow. Between the one who used to work there and the one who does, I’d say they’re right on. I worked at Tronix for close to 6 months, I won’t disclose my reason for leaving as that will inturn disclose my identity. Tronix “headquarters” (if you want to call a 2 room 20 desk office with major lockdown security to protect Bruce headquarters) is in Springfield, VA. The “sales department” which is outsourced, is in Connecticut. So, you’re both wrong. You will never be told a straight answer and you will get treated rudely…Carla (see I really did work there!) used to tell me to then listen in on me giving someone and attitude and being rude. Oh also, if you ask for a manager and wonder why you never can speak with one if you call, the CSR’s aren’t even allowed to ask the managers to take a call unless the customer is belligerant, and if the customer is belligerant they won’t take it anyway cause they want some time for them to calm down. Also, when you wait forever to have a question answered, it’s because the CSR’s aren’t allowed to leave their seats, instead have to raise their hand till a manager feels like walking over or even notices them. Their website says they provide their employees with health insurance and a 401k, their health insurance includes a $2500 deductable each year…you never get the benefit of being able to use health insurance. Also, both the 401k and health insurance, you have to beg Carla and Bruce to bring in someone to get you set up. You will pay off your computer before they ship it, they pay in full to Dell for your computer to be sent, and it’s paid with your money. Everything they tell you is read from a script “to ensure all customers get the same answer”. The CSR’s will all give you attitude, hang up on you, yell at you, often you will be put on mute while they laugh at you yelling on the other end of the line. But, on the other hand, the CSR’s are just pawns, most only last a couple of months and are either fired in an unprofessional manner infront of the whole staff or quit. Or a combination of both. About the only good thing about working at the place is they buy the staff lunch every Wednesday, but even then, it’s shitty ethnic food that smells funny.
December 9th, 2009 @ 4:11 pm
In conclusion, I wouldn’t use Tronix, it’s completely a waste of your time and money…you’ll wait close to 6 months to get the computer and even after you do they only report to one credit bureau cause Bruce is/was/whatever you want to call it associated with Blue Hippo. He only has the ability to report in his name, not under the company name, so he can only report to one. Also, if you want to cancel, stop a payment, whatever really, you need to call at least 2 days before the payment is scheduled, this isn’t a tronix scam thing, that’s how ACH works, but if you call the day before they’ll still take and keep your money, unless you call within the 1st 7 days to cancel and it’s your $99, but 7 days is really only 6 days and they aren’t open on weekends. So in short, don’t use tronix unless you have a lot of patiants and are responsible with your money, in which case, you wouldn’t be using tronix cause you probably have decent credit. Open a credit card that makes you pay a small fee to open…at least then you have credit and can manage it, do what you want with it, and make reasonable payment ($25/monthish)

I had also been hearing the ad on radio abot Tronix, and the computer deal. However, at the time I thought it was a great deal with all of the items that you would receive FREE….anyways, I was suppose to receive a package within a certain time frame, and that I would be able to cancel within the 7 days. However, It has been over ten days, and I have not received anything from them. I would like to cancel the whole deal. But having problems doing so…any suggestions out there…

Dear “Ex Tronix Employee”, you are not an ex employee of Tronix but rather
an ex employee of a company that contracted with them. You signed a confidentiality agreement to not
disclose confidential and proprietary information regarding us and any of
our clients. It is a condition of employment that you not disclose this
information to third parties during or after employment. Disclosure of
confidential information without express written approval is prohibited. We
take this infraction very seriously. If you would like to discuss this

This is getting ridiculous. The bottom line is that whether or not the work environment sucks highly (according to ex employees) or are sunshine-y days full of puppies and cute little fairy tale creatures bringing everyone lattes and ice cream cones so they can serve their customers to the highest level of happily ever after, the DEAL itself STILL ISN’T GOOD.
If your credit sucks and you sincerely want to make a change, get a secured credit card. Use it to buy stuff without paying two or three times its worth, build up your credit that way.

I just completed my review of TronixCountry and found just about the same as you did. Excellent reporting, here is my column on the issue:

I was at Walmart the other day… They had a desktop for 198.00 and no it was not one of those specials or loss leaders. For 99.00 you could add the cheapest monitor. Most computers have software on thme worth 300.00, even the 300.00 computers. The software comes on theirs is just what is on all computers.
I would like to thank everyone that exposes people like this. The problem with the economy today is the people that take money from people and do not give them a decent value for their money. People don’t have any cash left to buy other things because they over pay for everything else. It is killing the economy.
To me it’s important what other people do with their money because it effects me too. It effects everyone in the long run. I think we should all do what we can to bring companies like this down. Our future depends on it. The only bad thing is, when you make the kind of profits they do you can stay in business for some time. You still have the ability to run adds everywhere with the hope someone will fall for the scam. You still have money to pay for lawyers, and litigation.
Tronix Country will not last. Any company that has so many complaints online when you Google them is sure not to hook everyone. If you Google Tronix Country they show up first then all the other results are complaints. That’s why they come to these sites to try and stop all the thoughts and comments we post. You never see complaints like these from people dealing with legitimate companies.
I think we need to take them down before they have the money to create their own sites like this to post positive comments.

I have been paying on a dell since 07/01/09
an still no cpmputer. Tronix is not fair,
the $99.00+ 3 payments was paid 07/09, it

invested $848.36 to someone but no computer.
Cancelled bank drafts 12/09/09 and ask for windows 7 tower still no reply. For the people
who work for this company who need a job you
have sold your soul to satan and you will rot in hell.

i have been a tronix customer for a year and am very close to paying off my computer. i was very happy with my computer when it came, i had to make maybe 5 or 6 payments before they sent my computer. if you guys were smart then you would be able to figure out that the computer is not gonna come exactly on the 6 week, of course its gonna take a couple more weeks to get to you duh…and the people are very nice and they explain to you exactly whats going on and what the consquences are if you break the terms. now the saving your money thing with ing is a good idea and by all means if you can do it that way then do it, but dont talk bad on tronix because you cant comit to making faithful payment on time, that is all they ask of you and if you can do it then everything works out perfectly. yes the computer in the end comes out to be about 1600 dollars and you can get a computer for half that price, but most people like myself cant afford a computer on the spot so this was a good deal and besides if you think about it you get a computer, a printer, a camera, a tv and for some an mp3 player. i dont know about you guys that disagree with tronix but as far as me it great and if it wasnt for them i probably would not have a computer today. and by the way my computer is really nice and up to date and so is all the rest of my stuff they gave me so i think like the playstation guy said you guys need to grow up and be more responsible.
December 15th, 2009 @ 9:09 am
yes we rcently try this deal with tronix.after the secured direct payment from my bank account.
and it had been payed for about 6 months before they shipped what I purchased!-I recieved a dell computer with nothing.no speakers,mp3 player,19in tv,.printer,etc.this bastards are crooks, the computer sent out of date and bare!
December 15th, 2009 @ 8:01 pm
Vanessa, if you made all of your payments on time and without interruption, you shouldn’t have waited that long. Are you sure that you did not miss any payments prior to receiving your computer? Did you contact customer care to try and get your issue resolved? Missed payments are almost ALWAYS the cause of delay in getting your computer. I’m sure if you tried to contact customer service and you didn’t miss any payments or just one (maybe two max) you will get everything promised to you.
December 15th, 2009 @ 11:34 pm
LOL you people are funny as shit
But like everything else there is two sides of the story and some progrmas are meant for some ppl and not other so the best advice that i have for everyone is that give tronix a try if you dont think is meant for you call on the 6 day and just fucking cancel the acct (ill be glad to do it for you and even refund you money is we have some no question asked)now if you think is for you Great just make all your fucking payments on time and you get the computer call me i could upgrade the computer and give you the best deal you could get and 60 day later the rest of your items (no tv) tv when you finish your payments
So if you think that tronix is a scam dont you think it would of already been shut down and do you think we will have customers in every state even Hawaii and alaska almost 700,00 now how crazy is that
if you think still a scam come visit us we just around the coner is in virginia ill pick you up from the bus stop the train sto even the airport if i have to and if you still think is a scam let me give you my # call me 866 744 7254 ext 1XX or email me info@tronixcounty.com
Peace

Well…. I was wondering if I even needed to respond to that one.
Just because you have managed to take money from 70,000 or even 700,000 does not make Tronix Country legit. It can still be a scam if it’s 4 customers or 700,000. All it means is it is harder to be shut down. We all know by now, in the US you can go to jail if you scam 4 customers, you are only fined if you scam 700,000. Some of the complaints I see is the people not getting their money back or not being able to cancel the contract. Play it safe and just don’t do it to begin with.
Upgarde Queen just told you it takes 60 days before you see your computer, not the 4 or 5 weeks as some are told. Add it up people. 99.00 activation fee plus 13 weeks of 29.95. That is 488.00 every time I punch it into my calculator. You can actually get one faster going to Walmart. If you have 99 bucks in your pocket you are only 200.00 away from buying one from Walmart. What’s that… 7 weeks of 29.95.
On their web site they have a Acer Netbook for 499.99 plus a 99.00 activation fee equals 600.00. Walmart sells those for 278.00. I might add they make a profit at that price to.
It is almost like Tronix Country laughs in the face of 700,000 people that they managed to get money from. I wonder how many actually got a computer.
If you advertise enough you can sell anyone anything. Just think about how many of those Jupiter Jacks Billy Mays sold. Is that a piece of junk or what.
December 17th, 2009 @ 8:45 am
Upgrade Queen, you forgot to mention that upgrading the computer to make it well-functioning costs more money, and if they don’t have the available credit but want other upgrades it causes their computer to be delayed. As was said on the other thread that people don’t seem to realize, Tronix isn’t in the business of selling computers, if you care about getting a good computer at a good price Tronix isn’t for you. If you care about boosting your credit score and getting a bunch of so-so merchandise in the process, go ahead. Oh, and everytime a CSR forces you to upgrade, their little ticker goes up, that’s how they earn commission, which half the time they lose anyway cause customer cancel or default…but just more reason for them to keep pushing you.

You people crack me up. First off all you people who say you’re going to get a law suit against tronix are deluded. You agreed to the terms of the arrangement and as long as they send you the products they promised there is absolutely NOTHING a judge can do for you. Call your attorneys all you want, all you’ll be doing is wasting even more money consulting them. to the majority of you who have “fallen for this scam,” I’m not surprised, most of you don’t even seem to have a fifth grade education judging by your poor grammar, punctuation, and spelling. When you buy on credit thing will invariably cost MUCH more than they normally would, it’s up to the customer to figure out exactly how much more that is going to be. This company has been around for seven years, if there was a veritable reason for legal action it would already have been taken.
Oh and, no, I do not work for this company, (nor had i even heard of it before this week) I am simply using my own common sense, knowledge of contract law, and knowledge of what happens when you buy on credit to come up with this little rant. Thank you and have a nice day.

December 19th, 2009 @ 6:14 pm
Mike,
I agree with you - there’s probably nothing legally that could be done (generally speaking) about the Tronix business model. Their attorneys have the suck sealed up tight on this one, in little tiny letters and long, winding sentences full of unnecessarily long words.
What upsets people like me - people who have never even had the experience of losing money with Tronix - is that they RELY on people having little idea of the true parameters of the contract in order to screw them. You can be proud of yourself for being so terribly intelligent that you would never fall for this, but you come across more as an arrogant ass who has been fortunate enough in life not to have to turn to companies like this. Consider that poorer folks are well aware that they are preyed upon constantly, but don’t feel like they have a lot of options. Maybe they’re lacking the education or the discipline, but they don’t deserve to be screwed because of it.
And Mike, what if someone DID only have a fifth grade education? That make it OK to bend ‘em over and take their money?
Nice.
December 19th, 2009 @ 6:47 pm
I think we are all scammed at least one time in our life. Even I have been scammed. Not by a big company but by acute girl asking me to help her finance a car. I guess we all have buttons that someone can push. With this scam it’s the thought you can get a computer. No need for me to tell you what I was wanting when I got scammed. But the point is this, we all can be scammed at some point in time. Keep in mind, Direct Buy is a scam that targets people that probably have more education than some. They target people that think they are going to get a deal on what they buy and they charge them 6 grand for it. I could put a team of lawyers on retainer and come up with a scam too, and get away with it. I think it is up to people that have figured this scam out to keep the buzz going to help others that may fall for these scams.
Through all this chatter back and forth I think I did come up with one little flaw in what they are doing. Something that actually could be grounds for people to sue them. It may be the way they make you think you are just buying a computer, and now are telling people it’s a credit repair program.
My education, grade 12. I tend to use spell check and then copy and paste all my responses. That way no one will use that when they argue with me on here or other sites like this.

Definately interesting comments. Def gonna do some research myself.
Damon, def interested in hearing more bout your latest idea, keep us posted
December 25th, 2009 @ 5:51 pm
that is right I have a computer shop and have been fixing and building them for almost 20 years for the computer tower they are selling for $16.00 dollars i could build you 2 of them . at my shop i charge what the parts cost plus $ 100.00 dollars for putting it together I also rebuild older computers and give them to families here where I live that cannot afford them now there not super fast quad cores but they will get them on the internet so that their kids can use them for school . I look at it this way I make money from ppl that can afford it so I can give a little back so don’t fall for them kind of scams if you need to sit down and figure out how much it will cost after all is paid and you can tell if it is worth it or not for that matter you can always get a computer new for like $600 dollars from Wal-Mart if you really want to
December 25th, 2009 @ 6:12 pm
PS to my last post i have had people buy there parts one at a time if that what they needed to some times taking up to 6 months to get all the parts they need all new parts from intel or what ever the make of the parts are my point is i work with people where i live so they dont get scamed or ripped off just built a computer for a person for 1500 dollers but that was a intel core i5 cpu and a intel p55 mother board with 4 gigs of memory and a one gig video card and a 750 gig hard drive but i dont believe in rent a centers myself
December 25th, 2009 @ 7:00 pm
I have two computers that I have got all the parts to build. I know what the parts cost to build even the best computers. I have parts to build two that both have 8 gigs of ram, aluminum cases, 750 and 1000 watt power supplies, dual video cards, and a lot of other nice add ons and don’t have but about 1600.00 to 1800.00 each in those. I am talking about memory coolers, upgraded processor fans, extra USB ports, and other front panel accessories, and those in aluminum. You would not believe what 1600.00 will buy in a computer these days. Wolfie could build a lot for someone maybe better and cheaper than I could build myself one for. I have to just hunt around for the best price for parts. Him building them, he already knows where to get good prices for parts.
If you read all the posts on this site and the other one that has a lot of talk, the one thing that stands out is the fact that even employees will tell you, you may not get your computer till you make all the payments. Evidently, they can decide if they do not ship it till its paid for in full. I guess it is in the contract. Every calculation I have made tells me you can get one faster, better, and cheaper if you simply stay away from these guys. These people are ten times worse than those rent to own places.
If their lips are moving they are lying to you. Do not believe any excuse they may use for what they are trying to tell you, or get you into in one of these deals or contracts. Just don’t do it. If you have a question just post it here and I usually respond in a day or two.
December 26th, 2009 @ 7:56 pm
Bottom line; If it sounds too good to be true, 9.9999 times out of 10 it is. I just heard the ad on the radio and decided to search for Tronix Country since I am in the market for a laptop but as I expected lots of negative remarks. Those of you that have signed contracts with these people, if you don’t have a laptop stop paying them!!! It’s like going to the car dealership and being approved for a loan but you can’t take your car home until you finish your 48 months worth of payments!! Would anyone do that? Read the fine print people, especially now a days! Stop paying them!! Take the hit on your credit report, if it even affects it at all, if your credit score is as bad as mine this little bit won’t make much of a difference anyways. Let them take you to court if it even gets that far and plead your case with the judge, you gave them money and got nothing, the chances are that for $1600 it will never happen…..And Damon it’s those damn cute girls that’ll get you every time but they never got me for $1600!! All though I did help a family member with some financing once, and only once, it will never happen again. Learned my lesson on that one.. If everyone who signed a contract with these people just looks around there’s many options out there where you can actually have a laptop while you’re making the payments.
December 27th, 2009 @ 3:08 am
awesome. i just spent like half an hour reading the comments here and…uh…i’m out. peace.
December 31st, 2009 @ 3:56 am
I was jacked by Blue Hippo LLC and I found out by internet research that the person who created Tronix Country used to work for Blue Hippo. I stopped payments right away and they never refunded my money. They said I had to purchase something else out of their catalog. They told me I had to pay a final payment with a money order. I never received anything and now sent a claim form to the bankruptcy court in the state of Delaware. Be careful who you give your personal information to and think twice before falling for this type of scam.
December 31st, 2009 @ 1:16 pm
Barb, and others reading this, that is the way things are set up there. They make money if you get a computer or not. If you don’t send them all the money, they do not ship your computer. If you realize your being ripped off and stop making payments they still make a profit. Of course if you do make all the payments you were ripped off. You are better not to do the deal at all. There is no way to win in dealing with Tronix Country.
I see now they are ramping up on the commercials. The one thing I noticed was in the commercial it looked like they want people to believe it is shipped out in 3 to 6 weeks. Of course that little disclaimer only showed on the screen for just a second. What they like to do is take another 3 weeks or so by saying they have to test your computer. I ordered a Dell and it was built, tested, and shipped to me in one week. It is all lies and scams to take your money.

I hate seeing these companies that swoop in and take advantage of people and rip them off. Ever since I first started seeing the commercials for them and others just like them, I felt these businesses need to be stopped. That’s why you see my posts everywhere. I have posts in 5 different places and working on a web site of my own.
Keep spreading the word, I do.

Local Walmart here is selling those small laptops for 228.00. They call them netbooks and mine is faster than my desktop. Paid 299.00 for mine a year ago. Makes a good budget computer… most even come with a built in web cam.
Anna arrepentido a aquí ellos consiguieron todo que dinero fuera de usted y nunca le dieron una computadora.
January 26th, 2010 @ 6:32 pm
If you can get a good value computer and can pay outright for it—then thats the road you should take.
If however, you do not have good credit and cannot buy even a $300 computer system in cash, then Tronix Country is at least an option. Making affordable scheduled payments to get a new computer and establish a good credit payment history might be worth the investment for some people. Also, in the end, the interest payments that some people may end up paying on a credit card can equal hundreds of dollars beyond the purchase price. One thing that is guaranteed with Tronix. If you make your payments, you WILL recieve your computer.
January 26th, 2010 @ 7:00 pm
First problem …. First of all, what you get from Tronix Country is a 300.00 to 400.00 computer that will cost you at least 600.00 before you get it. Making small affordable payments to them will actually take longer than simply buying one at Walmart. I saw a netbook computer on their web site for 599.00 that Walmart sells now for 228.00.
Second problem …. You may not get it in the time promised if you so much as make one payment late.
Third problem …. They make you think you will get it in 5 to 6 weeks but them they also state they need 3 weeks to test it. That adds up to 9 to 10 weeks at the least. Dell will build, test and ship computers in less than a week. If they are selling Dells, they already come to them tested. The extra 3 weeks is merely to give them time to collect even more from you before they ship the item.
Fourth problem … Does it really help your credit. That may simply be a mith or a con. Chances are if you can’t or don’t have credit due to some past credit problems, this is really not your answer. You will pay them an extra 1500.00 for your computer just because you want to rebuild your credit. That makes very little since to me. What I suggest is taking that 1500.00 and pay off some of the bills you may owe that is causing problems to your credit. Paying these off may help your credit far more than financing an over priced computer. It is also better for people to see that you paid off several old bills than taking on new debt. Bottom line, improve your credit by paying off defaulted debt. In fact most defaulted debt can be settled for a small fraction of the amount owed. Depending on what you owe, it may be less than 1500.00 to settle debt and improve your credit.
Bottom line … these people do not loose money on anything they do. The only one that does loose is the people that sign up for overpriced stuff, just because they may have credit problems.
I always reply to posts….
January 26th, 2010 @ 8:47 pm
tronics are low life scamming scum
don’t fall for the cons and scams of this company
bottom line is.
tronics sucks!!!!!!!!!!!
January 26th, 2010 @ 11:29 pm
Just to comment on the credit card comment from PlayStationPlayah. If you financed a 300.00 computer from anywhere and made the same payments Tronix Country wants the cost would be less than 50.00. At Tronix Country you make four 30.00 payments a month. If you paid a credit card company 120.00 a month on that 300.00 computer it would be paid off in less than 4 months even if the rate was over 30%. Even if you took all year to pay for it at 30.00 a month payments the interest would only be less than 100.00. Hummmmm… its like you are paying them an extra 90.00 a month. Hey, looks like they are charging 95.00 a month interest. I don’t know of any credit card charging 95.00 a month interest on a 300.00 charge.
Calculators are just too cheap for everyone not to have one.

tronics sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 1st, 2010 @ 2:41 pm
I took time to read several of these comments.
I consider myself a fairly educated person, but ran into some credit issues, but there is no way in hell I would fall for the type of crap that tronix is putting on. #1 I wanted to see how long it would take to actually speak to a live person. Day one I call the customer service # provided on the internet(the only one) Right off the bat, all you hear are these testimonials(who gives a shi#@T) I stayed on the line for about 20 min, at that point, I e-mailed them to let them know that I was not able to get through to them and gave my info and home # for contact. Well, of course they didn’t e-mail me back or call me. So, now it’s just a game to me, day#2 I call same thing more testimonials while waiting for a rep. so I pop in a Movie with the cordless phone near my head, but not right up to my ear so, I can watch my movie and hear if someone gets on the phone. I watched the entire 94 min movie without anyone responding to my call. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICES HUH!!!!! Once again, I emailed them a smart-ass comment about how ridiculus this whole thing was. And, of course as of today no response, that was 10 days ago. In my entire life I have never seen or heard of anything like this. And, yes, the prices are entirely way too expensive, believe me. I have owned many computers in my life and know a lot about them. You’re paying for about 3 computers and good ones at that. I did all this not because I needed a computer, but because I can’t stand companies ripping off good people who are really trying to restablish their credit and don’t make alot of money as it is. I was their once myself and a company went too far with me until I took them to court and won!!! Thanks to a team of great lawyers. There are better ways. Be patient !! Oh!!, I have reported this company to the attorney general.
February 1st, 2010 @ 3:27 pm
They are cracking down on the credit card industry. This is just another area that needs new restrictions too. I am thinking a simple law that requires a company to ship you item within 8 weeks or you get a complete refund in full. That would include all fees and shipping also. Every last sent, maybe even a little more to compensate the buyer for his trouble. Why not a full refund plus 10% for any item over 100.00.
February 2nd, 2010 @ 1:52 pm
do anybody have the number where I can reach this company
